Designed for your business, not adapted from a theme
A theme is a set of decisions someone made for a different company. Custom website design starts from what you sell, who you are selling it to, and what they need to see before they will pick up the phone.
Structure before decoration
What goes on the page, in what order, and what has to be visible without scrolling. Most sites that underperform are not ugly – they are simply arranged in the wrong order, and no amount of styling fixes that.
Designed on a phone first
More than half your visitors are on a phone, often outdoors, often in a hurry. We design that version properly rather than squashing the desktop one and hoping.
Every state, not just the pretty one
Forms mid-typing, a failed submission, a search with no results, a category with two products in it. These are the screens people actually meet, and they are usually the ones nobody designed. If you have the budget, we can make sure every base is covered.
A system, not a pile of pages
Type scale, spacing, buttons and components defined once and reused. New pages then look like they belong, including the ones added two years after we finish.
Real content, not placeholder text
We design around your actual headings and your actual photos. A layout that only works with perfect three-word headings is not a layout, it is a rehearsal.

Work out who it has to convince
Different buyers need different reassurance. A homeowner choosing a builder and a procurement manager choosing a supplier are not looking for the same thing, and the design should not pretend otherwise.

Structure and wireframe
Grey boxes first. It is far cheaper to argue about what belongs on a page before anyone has spent a day making it beautiful.

Design in real screens
You see the actual pages, at real widths, on desktop and on a phone. Changes at this stage cost nothing, which is exactly why we show you here.

Hand over to build
Straight into our own build, or documented and handed to your developer if you have one. Either way you own the files.

Can you design a site without building it?
Yes. Some clients have an in-house developer or an agency they are happy with and just need the design done properly. You get the files, a component library and enough documentation that whoever builds it does not have to guess at spacing.
How many rounds of changes do we get?
Two structured rounds on each stage is what is quoted, and in practice we keep going until it is right rather than counting within reason. What we will do is tell you when a change is preference rather than improvement, and let you decide with that on the table.
Do we need new photography?
Usually it is the single highest-return thing you can spend on, and stock photos of a generic office are worse than none. That said, we will design around what you have if the budget is not there, and we will tell you honestly which photos are hurting you. We are even able to generate some seriously impressive images with AI tools if we need something specific but there isn’t a budget for real photography.
Will it look like every other site you have done?
It should not, and the portfolio is the fastest way to check that claim. We keep the process consistent and the output particular – a physiotherapy clinic and an earthmoving contractor need very different things from a homepage.
